Beef jerky chips are a type of dried meat that is made from thin strips of beef that have been seasoned and then dehydrated. Beef jerky is usually made from tougher cuts of meat, such as the shoulder or round, and the meat is trimmed of fat before it is cut into strips. The strips are then marinated in a mixture of spices and sauces, which helps to tenderize the meat and add flavor. After the marinating process is complete, the beef is placed on racks and smoked or dehydrated. The final product is a chewier, more intense version of beef jerky that can be stored for months without refrigeration.

  2. Lay the slices flat on top of the dehydrator trays after draining and patting them dry.
  3. Make sure there is enough space between each slice so that they may flow freely.

  6. Keep in an airtight container at room temperature.

Chip’s Oven Beef Jerky

Meat that is properly dried and kept will last longer than the consumers will allow, such as before it can go rancid. Because of the excessive fat and inadequate drying or storage of the meat, it becomes putrid. To organize the meat by size and thickness, use metal or wooden skewers to connect smaller and thinner pieces toward the oven’s entrance for simple removal as they will finish first. To add a little sweetness to the dish, use honey instead of Worcestershire sauce or add a touch of brown sugar.

1) Cut the meat into 1/4-inch strips, trimming any fat around the edge or in the middle if necessary.

2) In a mixing dish, combine onion powder, black pepper, garlic powder, salt, and Italian seasoning. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and hot sauce until well combined. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours or wrap in a gallon zip lock bag and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before turning it over at least twice.

3) Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Use aluminum foil on the bottom to collect drips. Increase the oven temperature to 150 degrees F.

4) Remove the meat from the marinade, and then insert round-type toothpicks into the tops of the strips of meat, and hang them from the oven rack. Bake for 4 hours or until the edges are hard but still flexible if bent. The meat will continue to dry after being removed from the oven.

5) Remove the meat, roll it in paper towels, then pat away the grease. Place in a tightly sealed container or zip lock bags to keep it fresh.
